To the new era

This blog does not represent the opinion of Murdoch University, or Aquila Septem Pty. Ltd. Co. Inc. or any other company, industry or persons mentioned. This blog is written for entertainment purposes only and is not to be taken seriously. This blog follows on from Lachlan's previous blog "Disorderly Accounts of Uni Life." A blog written for Murdoch university, there maybe some inside jokes in this one that will be explained there.

So sit back, pull up a chair, relax a bit. This is going to be a long trip. But it should be an enjoyable one.

Dear <FirstName><LastName>,

And a Merry Christmas and a happy new year to your all, and especially to you <FirstName>, I do hope the festive season has treated you well.

There is always some debate on whether a new decade/century/millennia should begin on the 0th year or the 1st year. of a given time frame, due to the fact that the original construction of the Gregorian calendar did not include a year 0, but this was added sometime later, I'd like to think it does indeed fall on the first year. Regardless of the actual accepted time beginning of the time frame alluding to 201*, I'd like to state that this is the beginning of a very big time for me so I would like to say that this is the end of the time in which I have been learning all the skills I was told would be necessary to continue life successfully, and entering in to the time where I learnt that that was just stupid and I will continue learning redundant knowledge for the rest of my days.

This is indeed the year where I start working full time. And start planning my next move to get out of there as soon as possible.

As much as I hope to get out of there, I must admit, I will most likely be stuck there for 10 or more years. After all, it's a steady income and the job can't be that bad and admittedly I may be in fact designing or working with systems that affect the entire Australian population. A daunting task but provides a great excuse for any problems.

"It's not working fast enough!"

"It needs to work for 20 million people"

(hang up)

Although it would be nice if I could convince the appropriate people that a GUI with less grey can help.

but anyway. Still don't know what I'm going to be doing, so let's just wait until February before I start talking about how dead end my section is.

And that's the other thing that I can't get through my head yet. I FINISHED university. That wasn't actually suppose to happen, I always thought it would be nice, but I just kept completing semesters then... I've got no more to do, and a job. It's still all a bit "Awww.." well, I guess it really only is monumental for me. You're probably bored out of your mind reading this.

Why are you reading this? (That was rhetorical.) Why am I writing this? (So was this.)

This Christmas letter thing is stupid.

Screw you guys. I'm going to Brisbane.

Kind Regards,

Lachlan.
